Q: Cheapest way to replace 2001 Toyota Camry sideview mirror?
I cracked and detached the plastic housing the driver's sideview mirror, and wanted to replace it. A couple of mechanics have told me it's a dealer-only part, and they can replace only the whole thing, including the mirror and motors. That's ok, but the dealer parts are expensive. Anyone have experience with replacing the whole thing with a cheaper, generic part?

A: Check out Keystone auto parts, they are one of the largest aftermarket body part distributers. http://www.keystone-auto.com/bodyshops/products.html Another one is Certi-fit. They are not as high quality, but usually most cannot tell. You will have to look up in the local yellow pages to find one near you.

Q: 2001 Toyota Camry oil change?

Q: 2001 Toyota Camry Blown Head Gasket?
my 2001 toyota camry is at 90,000km and the head gasket has blown. What are reasons for this and is it a common problem for this car? Is it possible that accelerating very fast at high rpms could have cause this?

A: the most common reason for head gaskets blowing is the antifreeze is not flushed and changed properly.what happens is the coolant builds up a static electrical charge called electrolysis.when it does this it will build up rust and corrosion and most of the time it goes straight to the gaskets and seals the head gasket is the most likely subject to damage.it is the gasket that separates compression, oil and water. it takes alot of pressure from all different things when the corrosion is in the coolant it settles and builds around the coolant ports on the head gasket and eats the head gasket then it blows.it can result as several different problems you can get ,oil in the water, water in the oil, compression in the water or burning of coolant.all will result to poor performance, not running right.it is not a common problem unless it is not maintained properly otherwise it can be a problem on any car or truck. make sure to keep your coolant changed twice a year once in the spring before summer and once in the fall before winter.keep your oil changed.your gaskets will last alot longer. hope this will help you good luck. p.s. i don't know where you live but if is a 4 cylinder i wouldn't pay more than a thousand dollars for the whole job parts and labor combined!!!!!!

Q: "idiot" light on toyota 2001 camry?
I have a 2001 Toyota Camry (and no vehicle book because my ex lost it.) An "idiot" light (the ones on the dash that tell you something is wrong) came on a few days ago. It's a picture of the car with lines coming out from the tail lights. All the front and rear lights, turn signals and brake lights work on the vehicle. Any idea what might be wrong?

A: Hello my friend I'm Robert and It sounds like you checked all the lights correct but you failed to mention one. That would be the center light on the rear glass inside the car. And the other possibility would be the brake fluid level is low do to normal brake ware. But you should check the brakes to see how much life is left on them as they also have censers that could and WILL set off a warning lamp. You may want to look at your local news paper to see who is giving free inspection check with a oil change and kill 2 birds with one stone.

Q: how to fix left side signal light of my 2001 toyota camry ?
you can hear blinker inside the car the right side works ok but not the left side. I already replaced both bulb light front and back without results.

Q: Why does my 2001 Toyota Camry battery keep draining?
If I don't drive it for 3-4 days the battery always 'dies'. As long as I drive it everyday it's okay or if I disconnect the battery I can leave it sit for weeks, re-connect the battery, and it starts right up. I've had it checked by a mechanic and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Anyone else having this problem? Should I take it to a Toyota dealership? ....or what? thanks for your answers!!!

A: Hello I understand your problem. I own cars, and this happens all the time to me. Some people will say check this and check that, they don't know. Find a "Automotive electrical mechanic shop ". You have a electrical short or leak and they will trace it and let you know. They're not that expensive and will find it and fix it fast. Good Luck BS
