Q: Would you buy a 2005 Toyota Camry Solara with 59,000 mles on it?
Would you buy a 2005 Toyota Camry Solara with 59,000 mles on it? It is a Toyota Certified vehicle.
The dealership wants $15, 700 for it, do you think that I can talk them down.
A: I actually just purchased a 2005 Solara (2.4L) with 61,000 miles on it a few weeks ago that was a certified used vehicle from a Toyota dealership. I am very impressed and happy with my purchase. The car runs great and the transmission is in perfect shape. I do have a manual transmission which I prefer over automatics. I did buy it for a great dealership out the door price of $12,500. The powertrain warranty gives you peace of mind that Toyota offers on it. Also, the first 3 months/3,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty is a nice way to start off. Toyota in general is a very reliable car. There are a lot of owners who are repeat buyers. I know the recent news has caused a bit of an image problem, but remember when Audi had the issue many years ago with the faulty computers and deaths? They are now strong as ever. Toyota will recover and will be strong once again.
I would say go for it as you are getting yourself a really great car. I am VERY happy with my purchase and if you do go for a Solara, I hope you will be happy too!
Q: 2005 Toyota Camry makes buzzing sound when driving?
I owned 2005 Toyota Camry. I noticed since last month when I drive the car it make sound like a race car. I thought there was something wrong with the muffler. i took it to the shop and did not find anything wrong with the muffler and they were saying it might be the wheel bearing. Please help!
A: That's awful new of a car to have a bad wheel bearing. Have the car jacked up and spin the wheels by hand to see if any of them make a grinding sound, and shake them to see if they are loose and wobbly. That would indicate a bad wheel bearing. A defective tire with internal tead separation will make a bit of noise when the car rolls and not when the car is standing still. You can check those things. The shop should have checked the wheels instead of just saying a "maybe" about them.
Look in the wheel wells to see if the inner linings are loose and rubbing on the tires. That can make an awful and loud racket.
Q: Resetting the Stereo PIN code on 2005 Toyota Camry?
My father in law got a new battery put in his 2005 Toyota Camry (Australia) and they lost the settings in the process. Now the Stereo requires a PIN code which of course there does not seem to be any record of.
Anybody know of a way around this problem?
TIA
A: Take it to a local auto elecric shop. They should be able to reset it quickly.
Q: 2005 Toyota Camry problem non working cig lighter?
My 2005 Toyota Camry, cigarette lighter does not work. Changed fuse inside the car for cigarette lighter, still didn't work. Was told there is another fuse under hood, didn't see anything labeled cig lighter or aux. Please help me.
A: dose your clock work?your radio?if yes then its the socket itself, ether the plug came off or the lighter is no good,do you use the lighter?do you touch the cigarette to the red coil in the lighter?this can cause the coil to brake and not work,if it looks good then you need to pop the cluster out to see if its unplugged.this all assuming you did change the right fuse, fuses could blow with cheap chargers(for cells or gps ,whatever)
Q: How often should I change the oil for a 2005 Toyota Camry?
I put about 30 miles a day on it. I've heard every 3,000 miles but that just seems to frequent.
A: Every 3000 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first. Seriously because the oil gets dirty and breaks down. It is also recommended that you check your oil at every fill up. It is more practical to check it every 3 or 4 fillups if you have a newer car, but definately more often as you get closer to 100,000 miles.
Good habits with your oil will give you more life out of you car and less of a chance of any major problems with your motor.
Make sure you change the filter with every oil change too! If you get someone else to change it for you, then you can mark the filter to make sure it was changed.
Oh, and don't believe that 5,000 or 10,000 mile crap. Stick with 3,000. And don't use oil meant for a lawn mower or anything else. I've seen it all.
Q: How much should I sell my gently used 2005 Toyota Camry for?
It's in very good condition, only about 20,000 miles on it - mainly in-city driving. Do you think $9,000 - $10,000 is reasonable?
Also, are there some good places I can sell it online?
A: hell yeah, i'd buy it if you were from around here! :) lol i dunno where you're from but around maryland/delaware you could probably sell it easily for $13k, at 20k miles? thats a bargain..
try autotrader, craigslist, any local want ad books you can find at gas stations, etc should be pretty good bets to sell on without paying much, if anything..
Q: Maintenance light on my 2005 Toyota Camry?
I have a 2005 Toyota Camry with 57,000 miles on it, and when I was coming home the Maintenance Light came on. Now I know this is a very weird question for this type of forum, but I just wondered if anyone else had this happen and what it turned out to be?
A: Time to change the oil. This is listed in your owners manual. To turn it off, just follow the
directions.
* hint : This procedures page should be listed on the index on the back cover of the owners manual.
If not, just shoot me an e-mail..
Q: What would my monthly payments be on a used 2005 Toyota Camry?
If I only put $1,000 down and I have pretty bad credit? The asking price is $17,000. FYI I will not be trading a car in either.
A: I'm pretty sure the point is moot because with "pretty bad credit" it is unlikely you will get a loan at all. Folks with stellar credit are having a tough time getting loans.
For the sake of argument, figure about 25.00 per 1,000 financed.
price 17,000
tax, lic 1,700
sub 18,700
down 1,000
amt financed 17,700 x 25.00 = 443.00 x 60 months = 26,580
maybe not a good idea as you'll be roughly 13 grand upside down the minute you drive off the lot.
b.t.w. 17k is wayyy too much for a 4 or 5 year old camry. In the used car industry, these are known as "soft" vehicles. There are so many of them that they don't hold strong value in spite of the fact that they are good cars.
Q: How do I raise my low beams on a 2005 Toyota Camry?
My low beams are aimed really low and don't reach far enough.
A: There is an adjustment screw somewhere on the headlight. Play around with that.
Q: How many Oxygen Sensors are in the 2005 Toyota Camry?
Are there both a front and rear one?
It's an inline 4.
A: v6 has 4 o2 sensor
If it has 2 tail pipes
v4 has 2 o2 sensor
Q: How do I turn off the maintenance required light on a 2005 Toyota Camry after I have changed the oil?
A: I think smooth is right except I am pretty sure that you need to hold down the trip button and then turn your key to acc while holding the button i until it resets. Could be wrong but try it
Q: How to turn off the maintenance required light in a 2005 Toyota Camry?
A: take it you just got an oil change? the ecu will display this light whenever an oil change is needed. Most garages do not want to fool around with trying to reset this. for most cars, you turn the car on, turn the car off. then you turn the key halfway )so all your gauges come on, but not the engine), then hold in the tripmeter buttom on your odometer. You can double check this by looking in your owners manual. then i would recommend writing these steps down on a notecard and keep them in your glovebox. that way every time you get your oil changed you can reset it right then and there in the parking lot.
Q: What type of rims should I put on a black 2005 toyota camry?
Im about to buy this car ... but cant figure out what kind of rims I want to put on the car
A: Depends on what your liking is, your style and ultimately how you want your camry to look. If you want blacked-out rims, I would go with this wheel: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/findWheelDetail.do?dVeh=dVeh&bp=&tc=DRAD34&c=2&rcz=55426&yr=2005&pc=22836&wd=18&rw=&vid=008206&rc=MNMINT
If you wanted more chrome, go with something like this: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/findWheelDetail.do?dVeh=dVeh&bp=&tc=DRAD12&c=2&rcz=55426&yr=2005&pc=47192&wd=18&rw=&vid=008206&rc=MNMINT
If you live in a cold climate where there is a lot of snowfall, and therefore salt on the roads in winter, you'll want to go with a "machined" rim instead of chrome as chrome will rust much more easily than a machined rim. Good luck!
Q: What should the tire pressure be on a 2005 Toyota Camry?
Is the pressure the same on the front and back?
A: 32 lbs of air. never go off what it says on the side of the tire. the pressure listed on the tire is for MAX inflate only and should only be observed if you are carrying a large heavy load in the vehicle or in tow.
Q: How do I disconnect my seatbelt chime on my 2005 toyota camry?
I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt first of all but I sometimes take it off as I am pulling into my neighborhood and I have to listen to it. It is very annoying and it starts over when I leave the car running, get out and get back into the car and start to drive. This can get very repetative if you are looking for houses and are having to get in and out of the car without turning it off!
A: Look under your seat for a wiring harness with 2 wires. There should be a plug in the wires for removing the seat. Unplug the wires.
